Step-2 polish means controlled cut with a fine break-down. FineCut’s micro-abrasives grab the leftover defects from the cut, break down evenly and finish very fine. The moderately oily carrier matrix keeps the pad "open" for longer, cuts down on dry running and helps a streak-free wipe-off. The result is a clear, crisp gloss with no "milky" zones and clearly reduced holograms – the ideal base for any sealant. Because FineCut doesn’t leave heavy fillers sitting on top, the look stays put and doesn’t fall apart after the first wash.

Automotive workflow – pad choice, pressure, cross-passes & buffing off

Automotive workflow: after the pre-wash (TropicSnow), hand wash (MagicShampoo) and, if needed, a heavy step with RoughCut, you work panel by panel. Start with a medium-hard foam pad; switch to a soft finishing pad on sensitive, soft clear coats, and on hard-wearing paint a medium-firm foam can add bite. Prime the pad thin, 3–4 drops of product, spread on a low speed, then polish in even cross-passes with moderate pressure until the film goes visibly and noticeably "thin". At the end, ease off the pressure and stroke speed ("jeweling") to pull that last bit of gloss. Work edges and fresh paint gently, and keep off plastics or tape them off. Take residue off fully with a fresh, dense microfibre – the finish should look dry, clear and cloud-free. Then seal to suit the job: fast and hydrophobic with BodyGuard, classic deep gloss with ShineSpeedPolish as a wax-based finish, or a quick "pop" in between with JustPerfect.

Compatibility & limits – paint hardness, one-step alternative & protection

Compatibility & limits: FineCut works brilliantly on most OEM clear coats – on very hard paint it may want a longer set or a slightly more aggressive pad, and on very soft paint a gentle, short follow-up with a soft pad helps. When time is tight and you need defect removal and finish in one go, reach for PowerSpeedPolish as a one-step. If there are only fine wash marks and you want protection, ShineSpeedPolish (a wax polish) is often enough. Don’t polish matte paint/wraps or PPF – you’d change the matte level or gloss look without meaning to. After FineCut, a protection layer always goes on the clean finish: BodyGuard for hard-wearing water beading or, if you like, a waxy finish. Dual-action or rotary?

A dual-action gives you the safest, hologram-free result. Only work with a rotary if you’re experienced, and settle the panel with a quick dual-action finishing pass.

Does FineCut dust?

With the right amount of product, cool panels and clean pads it stays low-dust. Dust usually comes from overloaded pads or too much heat – blow out/swap pads regularly.

Can I seal straight after?

Yes. Take residue off fully, then seal with BodyGuard or – if you like – set a waxy tone with ShineSpeedPolish/WaxPolish.

Is it OK for gelcoat too?

Spot work yes, e.g. after heavier steps, but large gelcoat areas are quicker with PerfectOne (one-step), and then you lock them in with WaxPolish/BodyGuard.
