Leather repair paint for Audi / spot repair 20 ml

The highly pigmented repair paint in a 20 ml tube is ideal for precise damage repair on Audi leather — without the need for elaborate spraying equipment.

Clean the damaged area, degrease, if necessary, level with filler, and smooth with 1000-grit sanding fleece. Apply Fluid Leather (Audi) to a soft brush or sponge and dab specifically onto the repair area – in 1–2 thin layers crosswise, allowing 20–30 minutes to dry in between. After 4 hours, seal with Top Coat. The 20-ml tube is sufficient for 5–8 steering wheel repairs.

COLOURLOCK Fluid Leather (Audi) is a liquid, highly pigmented leather repair colour in a 20 ml tube — built for pinpoint repairs of small damage like cracks, scratches and colour wear on Audi leather interiors. The colour is matched to original Audi swatches and goes on cleanly with a brush or sponge.

💡 Day-to-day from Detailing1: We reach for Fluid Leather (Audi) on steering-wheel repairs — the classic 12 o'clock wear spot. One tube gets you 5–8 wheel repairs. Soft-bristle brush, dab it on crosswise, let it dry 30 min between coats, Top Coat Dull over the top — and you can't tell it from new.


Degrease the spot, dab it on, seal with Top Coat

You put Fluid Leather (Audi) straight from the 20 ml tube onto a soft brush or sponge and dab it crosswise onto the repair in 1–2 thin coats. Let it dry 20–30 min in between, then seal with Top Coat at the end.

Before the repair, you clean the spot with leather cleaner and degrease it with Plastic Cleaner or cleaning alcohol. Deeper cracks get filled first with Filler or Super Filler and sanded smooth with a 1000-grit pad. Then you dab the highly pigmented Fluid Leather (Audi) onto the prepped area — thin crosswise coats cover better than one thick layer.

Once it's fully cured, about 4 hours, you seal it with Top Coat Dull or Glossy to make the repair wear-resistant. A 20 ml tube gets you 5–8 steering-wheel repairs or roughly 15 spot crack repairs. Cost per repair works out at about 10 euros, and a full steering-wheel restoration takes around 3 hours including drying.

Spot repairs yes, big areas no

Fluid Leather (Audi) is the go-to for spot repairs — single cracks, scratches or smaller wear marks up to about 5x5 cm. Large-area repairs call for Leather Colour in the 250 ml or 1-litre size.

The heavy pigment and the tube format make Fluid Leather go a long way and stay precise — even on dark leather one coat often gives full coverage. But for repairs over 5x5 cm or whole bolsters the tube just won't stretch, and dabbing by hand wouldn't pay off. Suede and velour surfaces need Nubuk Fresh (Audi) anyway, since Fluid Leather would clog up the rough nap.

If all you're fixing is 12 o'clock wheel wear or the odd crack, Fluid Leather is the most economical and precise pick. When you're restoring whole seat groups, wheels or door cards, it pays to switch to Leather Colour (Audi) or the Complete Repair Set (Audi) with all the components.

For detailers with the odd damaged spot

Fluid Leather (Audi) is the pro pick for targeted spot repairs — detailers, independent garages and keen owners who want to fix wheel wear or single cracks cleanly.

On used-car reconditioning, 12 o'clock wheel wear is the classic. A tube of Fluid Leather runs about 67 euros and gets you 5–8 wheel repairs — that's material cost of around 10 euros per repair. With a brush and Top Coat, the whole repair job per wheel comes to about 3 hours including drying. After two weeks of use you can't tell it from a new wheel.

For plain care with no damage, Fluid Leather is the wrong route — Leather Fresh (Audi) is enough there. For full bolsters or whole panels it pays to switch to Leather Colour. But if you want to fix single damaged spots with OEM colour accuracy, the 20 ml tube is the most economical and precise tool in the COLOURLOCK range.

What are the most common mistakes we see?

Classics: (1) Damaged area not degreased — paint adheres poorly. (2) Too much material at once — then it looks like a repair instead of original. (3) No Top Coat — repair comes off. With filler + sanding + thin application + Top Coat it lasts 2+ years.

Is one 20 ml tube enough for an entire steering wheel?

Probably not for a completely worn-out steering wheel — we would plan for 2 tubes there. For classic 12 o'clock abrasion over 4–5 cm in length, one tube is easily enough for 5–8 repairs.
