Anti-hologram finishing polish for hologram-free high gloss

The ZviZZer FC 2000 Fine Cut is a water-based finishing polish with self-leveling aluminum oxide grit, classified as yellow (Fine Cut) in the ZviZZer color system. It removes holograms, halos, and fine swirls after a sanding step and produces a deep high gloss. Silicone- and solvent-free, suitable for all paint types, Made in Germany.

Apply a pea-sized amount to the soft yellow pad, distribute at approximately 1,000 rpm, and then work in at around 1,600 rpm with medium pressure until a clear, high-gloss finish is achieved. Work in 40 by 40 centimeter sections, cleaning the pad after every two to three sections. For finish use only after an abrasive polish; not for deep scratches. Store in a cool, frost-free place and use within 24 months of opening.

Clear holograms and fine swirls after sanding

What is the ZviZZer FC 2000 Fine Cut? A water-based finishing polish that clears holograms, halos and fine swirls after a sanding step and builds up deep gloss. It's not a heavy cutter for deep scratches and won't replace a cutting compound.

ZviZZer FC 2000 Fine Cut is a water-based finishing polish from ZviZZer, marked Yellow in the five-stage colour system. Its self-breaking aluminium-oxide abrasive refines as you polish and pulls out the holograms and sanding marks a previous cutting compound leaves behind. It's silicone- and solvent-free, works on all paints including scratch-resistant and fresh clearcoats, and is made in Germany.

  • Hologram-free gloss as the last step. The FC 2000 clears the fine swirls and halos left in the paint after cutting and the machine, and builds deep gloss. You finish one side of a daily driver in about 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Two sizes for two depths of work. The 250 ml bottle covers roughly 6 to 10 finishing passes on a mid-size car, the 750 ml bottle the full season. A pea-sized drop covers one pad face.
  • Soft yellow pad for maximum gloss. The FC 2000 is matched to a soft pad with a slightly cutting character. It runs best on the dual-action at about 1,000 to 1,600 rpm and medium pressure, without putting fresh sanding marks back in.

Day-to-day from Detailing1: The most common mistake with a finishing polish is treating it like a cutting compound and trying to chase scratches out with it. The FC 2000 barely cuts, it refines. If you can feel the defect with your fingernail, you hit it with a cutting compound first and lay the FC 2000 on top only after that. On a black 2026 paint, a single finishing pass at about 1,600 rpm got us a mirror-flat gloss where the attempt without sanding first only pushed the matte haze around.

Spread at 1,000 work it at 1,600 to high gloss

You spread the FC 2000 pea-sized at about 1,000 rpm across the section, then work it at around 1,600 rpm and medium pressure until the polishing film goes clear and a rich high gloss stands up.

It needs an already corrected surface: the paint has been washed, decontaminated and cleared of coarse scratches with a cutting compound. Work in sections of about 40 by 40 centimetres. The soft yellow pad is colour-matched to the FC 2000; a hard foam grade has no place under a finishing polish.

Keep the pad clean: knock the polishing dust out after two or three sections or switch to a fresh pad. A clogged pad smears and stops building gloss. Because the FC 2000 is water-based, it flashes off faster above 25 degrees paint temperature, so you work smaller sections rather than more product.

Holograms yes deep scratches no

The FC 2000 reliably clears holograms, halos and fine swirls, but for deep scratches you can clearly feel with your fingernail, a finishing polish is the wrong stage.

Its home turf is the last pass: it pulls out exactly the machine marks a strong cutting compound leaves in the paint, and turns a corrected but hazy finish into clear depth. On dark paints, where every sanding mark shows, this finishing step is the difference between clean and mirror-flat.

The limits are clear: if deep scratches are in play, go with the stronger cutting compound first and only then the FC 2000 as the finish. If you want the last percent of depth on very soft or dark paints, lay a finishing polish of the finest grade on top after the FC 2000. The FC 2000 won't replace a cutting compound and won't pull out scratches it doesn't have the grit for.

For the clean finish not for heavy correction

The FC 2000 is the right call when you want to set the hologram-free finish after sanding and you're after a result that holds up even on black paint under raking light.

It's less suited to two cases: correcting deep scratches, where the cut isn't there, and quick one-step prep, for which a one-step polish is the better choice. If you regularly need both, you're better off with the staged ZviZZer system of cutting and finishing polish than with a single stage.

In the workflow, the sealant comes after the finish. Because the FC 2000 works silicone- and solvent-free, it hides nothing, so you don't have to specially de-oil the paint before coating; a splash of isopropanol for a check is enough. This wipe-down is exactly what most people skip, and that's why a supposedly perfect gloss suddenly shows holograms again after the first wash, the ones the polishing oil was only covering up.

Frequently Asked Questions about ZviZZer FC 2000 Fine Cut

What is a finish polish and what does the FC 2000 do?

A finish polish is the final polishing step: it removes fine marks instead of removing material aggressively. The FC 2000 is ZviZZer's yellow Fine Cut grade with self-leveling aluminum oxide abrasive grains. It eliminates holograms, halos, and fine swirls after sanding and creates a hologram-free high gloss.

Which pad and what speed for the FC 2000?

A soft pad with slight cutting characteristics, matched to the yellow grade. Spread at about 1,000 RPM on an orbital polisher, then increase to around 1,600 RPM with medium pressure until a clear high gloss is achieved. A hard pad does not belong under a finish polish.

What is the difference between FC 2000 and a heavy-cut polish?

A heavy-cut polish removes material and pulls out scratches. The FC 2000 removes almost no material and refines: it removes the holograms left behind by the sanding process. Order: first heavy-cut polish, then FC 2000 as a finish.

Is the FC 2000 suitable for all paints?

Yes. It is water-based, silicone-free, and solvent-free, and can be used on all paints, including scratch-resistant, fresh, and cured clear coats. It is particularly effective on very soft, dark paints, as every sanding mark is visible there.

Can you do anything wrong with the FC 2000?

Most common mistake: using it like a heavy-cut polish and expecting it to remove scratches. It lacks the necessary cut, so the result will remain hazy. Too much product and excessive speed create heat and dust. A pea-sized amount per pad area is sufficient.

When do I use the FC 2000 and when the UC 1000?

The FC 2000 is the standard finish after sanding. If you need that last percent of depth on very soft or dark paints, you follow it up with the even finer UC 1000. For daily drivers, the FC 2000 is usually enough on its own.

Just ask us. Daniel will help you.

Applying ZviZZer FC 2000 Fine Cut

From sanded paint to a hologram-free mirror

FC 2000 is the final polishing step. It follows a corrected paint surface: washed, decontaminated, and freed from deep scratches using a heavy cut polish. A finish polish can only show its true effect on a surface prepared in this way.

Apply a pea-sized amount of FC 2000 to the soft yellow pad, spread it across the surface at approximately 1,000 rpm, and then work it in at around 1,600 rpm with medium pressure until the polish film becomes clear and a rich high gloss is achieved.

Work in sections of about 40 by 40 centimeters and clean out or change the pad after every two to three sections. If the paint temperature exceeds 25 degrees, the water-based polish will dry faster; in this case, work on smaller sections instead of applying more material.

Since FC 2000 is water-based and silicone-free, it does not mask anything. Finally, wipe down the surface with a splash of isopropyl alcohol to check the actual result before applying wax or a coating.

Notes: FC 2000 is a pure finish polish and removes very little material. Deep scratches that you can feel with your fingernail require a stronger heavy cut polish first. For that last one percent of depth on very soft or dark paints, follow up FC 2000 with the even finer UC 1000. Store in a cool, frost-free place; use within 24 months of opening.
